Leatherman Scissors

In 2010, Leatherman revised their Squirt lineup. They retired the Squirt S4, and added a small pair of scissors to the E4 and P4, transforming them into the ES4 and PS4. The new scissors replaced a couple of smaller tools. They are spring-action, using a lever attached to the body to open the blades.

Uses:

To use these scissors, use the thumb notch to pull the tool out of its recess. The spring only works when the scissors are fully open. Sometimes you need to hold the scissors slightly aslant so there is enough force to open the blades. If the return mechanism stops working, oil the hinge and base, and work the tool until it returns freely again.

Unfortunately, the spring is prone to breakage. The scissors will still cut, but won't return open. Fortunately, for the next 25 years you can return the broken tool to Leatherman for a free replacement.
