The 1950 Soldier Swiss Army knife produced by Victorinox and Wenger was similar to the 1949 Soldier from the previous year. This was the last year for the 100mm model used since 1909. The 1951 Soldier was a smaller, lighter knife with similar construction and tools. Some 1949 knives are marked with a P, indicating they were a private-issue knife purchased by a soldier as a replacement or additional knife. A few private-issue knives are in stainless steel.
