The Victorinox and Wenger 1987 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1987 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1987. Both versions still have a cutting notch in the bottle opener, and a hollow rivet, similar to the 1986 Soldier. Very few knives are stamped 87, and we have not seen any Victorinox knives from this year. Its tools are similar to the 1986 Soldier and 1988 Soldier, which are more common.
