The Victorinox and Wenger 1965 Silver Alox Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1965 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1965. Both versions have a cutting notch in the bottle opener, a hollow rivet, a cross with Waffenkontrolle stamp instead of the insignia. Some knives have Pat stamped on the can opener, and some do not. The blade tang is stamped with Elsener Schwyz for Victorinox knives, and Wenger Delemont for Wenger production (no crossbow). This was the first year for the silver alox finish. It has the same tools as the 1965 Red Alox Soldier produced early in the year. The silver alox continued on the 1966 Soldier and all later years.
