Victorinox and Wenger 1965 Red Alox Soldier Knives

The Victorinox and Wenger 1965 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1965 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1965. Both versions have a cutting notch in the bottle opener, a hollow rivet, and a cross with Waffenkontrolle stamp instead of the insignia. The blade tang is stamped with Elsener Schwyz for Victorinox knives, and Wenger Delemont for Wenger production (no crossbow). Some knives have Pat stamped on the can opener, and some do not. This was the final year for the red alox finish. Early 1965 Soldier knives have the same appearance as the 1964 Soldier, but production then switched to the 1965 Silver Alox Soldier.

Size & Weight: The Victorinox and Wenger 1965 Soldier knife is 93mm (3 1/2") long, 23mm (15/16") wide, and 14mm (1/2") thick. It weighs about 73 grams (2.6 oz).
