Victorinox and Wenger 1978 Soldier 93mm Aluminum Alox Swiss Army Knives

The Victorinox and Wenger 1978 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1978 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1978. Both versions have a cutting notch in the bottle opener and a hollow rivet. Wenger knives from this year show prominent striations perpendicular to the edge. Tools are similar to the 1977 Soldier, and continue on the subsequent 1979 Soldier.

Size & Weight: The Victorinox and Wenger 1978 Soldier knife is 93mm (3 1/2") long, 23mm (15/16") wide, and 14mm (1/2") thick. It weighs about 73 grams (2.6 oz).

Colors: The 1978 Soldier comes in silver ribbed aluminum alox.
