The Victorinox and Wenger 1990 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1990 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1990. Both versions still have a cutting notch in the bottle opener, and a hollow rivet, similar to the 1989 Soldier. Wenger knives are more common than Victorinox, with this year stamp. Some Wenger knives include a bale, but most do not. Some Wenger knives also still have an empty square on the front, that formerly received a Waffenkontrolle stamp by military inspectors. This feature was removed entirely in the 1991 Soldier
