The Victorinox and Wenger 1962 Soldier Swiss Army knives are a 93mm / 3 1/2" ribbed alox knife, with a 1962 date on the blade tang. This model was standard issue for the Swiss army during 1962. Both versions have a cutting notch in the bottle opener, a hollow rivet, a cross with Waffenkontrolle stamp instead of the insignia, and red alox bodies, similar to the 1961 Soldier. The blade tang is stamped with Elsener Schwyz for Victorinox knives, and Wenger Delemont for Wenger production (plain text without crossbow). Some knives have Pat stamped on the can opener, and some do not. The same tools are found on the subsequent 1963 Soldier. This year is relatively uncommon, and we have not yet seen any Wenger knives with the 62 date.
